Commodities-102: Offsets, Markets and Driving Offset Projects

Participants will leave the bootcamp understanding how to leverage offsets in order to meet greenhouse gas management, environmental, sustainability and corporate responsibility goals. The session will particularly delve into key issues involving quality, procurement, verification, performance and project considerations. The course will provide practical information, data, examples and case studies, as well as a suite of interactive exercises.

  • Understanding the frameworks for offsets and related markets (e.g. legal, voluntary)
  • Achieving organizational GHG reduction goals and reducing global emissions through offsets procurement
  • Managing risks and optimizing benefits associated with offset usage (e.g. legal, reputational, financial)
  • Differentiating between common offset standards, programs/markets, project types and co-benefits
